The universe and human existence

The modern cosmology anthropic principle states that our Universe and its fundamental constants is tuned to support human existence. It took though a "bit of time", roughly about 13 billion years for intelligent life to come to existence.
At the same time, the lure to understand the purpose of it bothered the human mind throughout the history of the human thought. We are all prisoners of the universe's Evolution or the Creator, locked in the cage called Earth with only one, sole purpose to breed, procreate and mutate our genes in order to sustain the evolution. Everything else we do, create, produce, is a fleeting dream, an illusion and is irrelevant. The higher purpose of our existence, if any, is an elusive, beyond our reach and comprehension. It is hard to accept that our existence is just an anomaly, a random product of molecular play, a fluke in this Universe of unimaginable size with trillions of stars, yet empty, barren cold and violent. There's no special status for us, the intelligent life in this universe. It is treated just like any other low complexity life form. We, the humans, are just one small step in the never-ending and unfathomable chain of evolution. The statement that the Universe is human centered is, mildly said, misleading.
